Recently, the paper "Urban buildings material intensity in China from 1949 to 2015" written by Dr. Yang Dong and other members of resource and environment research team of Institute of Science and Technology for Development of Shandong(hereinafter referred to as ISTD) of Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences) was accepted and pubished in the journal of "Resources, Conservation & Recycling" (JCR1 area journal, impact factor 7.044 in 2020), an international top academic journal in the field of production and environmental ecology, which achieved a new breakthrough in the publication of journal papers in the JCR1 area where the strategy is located.
This study collects multi-party data. After checking and analyzing, the system has established the most complete strength database of building material stock. This research result is a basic research work, which provides basic data support for domestic and foreign researchers to systematically carry out quantitative prediction of urban construction solid waste generation, urban building stock assessment and urban building renewable resource development research, and can also provide effective support for the scientific decision analysis of low-carbon city construction and sustainable urban regeneration management. This achievement was subsidized by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Outstanding Youth Foundation of Shandong Academy of Sciences, and the Studying Abroad Scholarships of Shandong Provincial Government.
In recent years, the research team has been devoted to continuous research in the field of resources and environment, and has successfully established a number of National Natural Science Foundation projects such as "Temporal and Spatial Variation Laws, Regional Patterns and Countermeasures of Residential Building Dormancy in my country. At present, another paper "Life Cycle Assessment of Cleaner Production Measures in Monosodium Glutamate Production: A Case Study in China" written by Dr. Yang Dong as the first author has also been published in the Journal of Cleaner Production (JCR1) District Journal, impact factor 6.395 in 2020) officially accepted. While carrying out scientific research work, the resource and environment team also participates extensively in academic exchange activities at home and abroad, and trains graduate students, which has played a positive role in promoting the academic influence of the institute and the construction of scientific research teams.
